Do You Have To Be In "Crisis" Before Asking For Help?Do You Have To Be In "Crisis" Before Asking For Help?

I recently interviewed many of my past and current clients and one thing I noticed that kept coming up

printer showing word, crisis

over and over again...

They only reached out to me for help when they were in some sort of crisis. Mainly a nutrition and health crisis. It's either they were diagnosed with a condition that needs better management of, or that they experienced some sort of health scare that affected their day to day life. And they all wished they had done something sooner.

And it saddens me to see that. It may not be because they didn't want to reach out but maybe they didn't know who to reach out to or the misconception that learning to eat well and take care of yourself is only important when you get sick.

We tend to put off changing until it hurts more to stay where we are than to change.

Just because we "tend" to do that, doesn't mean we have to. We often create this mindset of "I'll start tomorrow or it's not that bad, I'm still doing fine" and before we know it, we're in crisis.

What I’m trying to say is, I don’t want you to be like my past clients. I want you to get the help and realize you need the help before you hit crisis level 10 because at that point coming up with a solution becomes much harder and sometimes there may not be one.

There are SO many things that can be done to prevent a crisis before it escalates. You may be thinking "how are you so sure I will get sick if I keep doing what I do?" Well, good question. There is endless amount of science & research indicating how a lack of nutrients, lifestyle, or a certain way of living significantly correlates with disease and illness.

So let's dig deeper into your health and nutrition as PREVENTION rather than TREATMENT because we don't all have to get sick before we get help. You are in control of your life and you are allowed to choose to better yourself anytime.

Let's start changing the narrative of what society believes to be true from:

Get old --> Get sick --> Medicated --> Live in pain during the final years of your life

TO

Get old --> Keeping feeling good --> energized --> youthful --> sharp --> living pain-free & healthy until the end of life.

It is absolutely possible for you but you NEED to put the effort in by asking for help when you want to versus when you are forced to.

We don't want to wait until we go to our doctors and have them tell us, if you don't start exercising, you will have a heart attack or if you don't reduce your sugar, you will lose your leg to diabetes.

Do you think it's more helpful to fail a course before reaching out to a tutor or reaching out to a tutor when things get confusing? I hope you'd agree with me on the latter because that choice saves you time, money, pain and extra headaches. The same goes for your health.

Let me help you identify if this is the RIGHT time to ask for help:

  1. Do you identify as a Go-Getter? Someone that strives to work hard and better themselves?

  2. Are you 30+ and experiencing a decline in your health? A decline in your metabolism, weight issues, hormone issues, gut issues, health conditions, low energy, low sex drive, high stress, poor sleep, or general nutrition information overload?

  3. Have spend endless amount of hours on the web going down the nutrition rabbit hole?

  4. Are you trying to balance all areas of life and you feel like you lack time to prioritize your health and wellbeing?

  5. Are you dealing with a sugar or salt addiction?

  6. Are you using caffeine as your main energy source?

  7. Do you have a negative relationship to food where you feel shame and guilt after you indulge in what you love eating?

If you answered YES to any of the statements above, you are already on route to a crisis and it's time to ask for help.
